METTA

VIPASSANNA

Vipassana Meditation or Insight Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years as way to self observe both body and mind through awareness of direct experience. 

Here we will sit or lay in a relaxed manner and create the space for self observation together as we focus attention on the body and mind through guided breath. 

This self-exploratory journey is designed to dissolve mental impurity, increase awareness, self control, and inner peace. Practice results in a more balanced mind full of love and compassion.

This offering is available to all levels of experience and to both individuals and groups.

MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION

METTA or Love and Kindness meditation has been practiced for thousands of years as way to create compassion. 

Here we will sit or lay in a relaxed manner and create the space for self love together as we cultivate kindness for six benefactors starting with ourselves, a person of inspiration, a loved one, a neutral person, a person of difficulty and all beings everywhere. 

We move through multiple rounds of the guided mantras for each benefactor and bring additional focus through breath guidance. 

This offering is available to all levels of experience and to both individuals and groups.

Mindfulness or MBSR Meditation has been practiced since the 1970s where it was first invented at UMass Medical Center as a way to help patients with less than hopeful diagnosis.

 

Mindfulness can be understood as a non-judgemental acceptance and investigation of the present experience, including body sensations, mental states, thoughts, emotions, impulses and memories, in order to reduce suffering or distress and to increase well-being. 

Here we will sit or lay in a relaxed manner and create the space for self observation and healing together as we focus attention on the body and mind through guided breath and body scan practices.

This offering is available to all levels of experience and to both individuals and groups.
